IHN is an interfaith homelessness intervention program that helps restore stability to situationally homeless families in Johnson County. IHN has fed, housed, educated, and empowered hundreds of wonderful people, thanks to our network of 40 congregations and individual supporters. Last year, more than 75% of our guests obtained permanent housing after 90 to 180 days with us.

If you believe our work is your work, please share your time, talents, and treasures with JoCo IHN and our amazing families. With your donations and volunteer time, IHN can continue to help motivated and capable local families break the cycle of homelessness so they can land stable jobs, find happiness and begin to contribute to our community again.

IHN unites congregations to assist homeless families. For the past 15+ years First Christian Church has served as a host church for IHN – providing accommodations and meals for one week, every three months on a rotating schedule. This spring a decision was made to give our “host” duties to St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church in Overland Park. We have shared our resources with them and they are ready to take up the responsibilities of hosting families. Because IHN has been an important part of our church life for many years, we are now choosing to be a support congregation. That means we will take 1 day out of a week (once every 3 months) and will provide support for St Thomas by preparing/serving dinner and or breakfast, serving as drivers for the family, or playing with kids after supper.
